LankaSign, operated by LankaClear (Pvt) Ltd, functioning under the supervision of Central Bank of Sri Lanka, is the only Certification Service Provider (CSP) currently operating in Sri Lanka authorized by the National Certification Authority.
A digital certificate issued by LankaSign would be a valid certificate as per the provisions of the Electronic Transactions Act No. 19 of 2006 (as amended).
You may follow the following procedure to obtain digital certificates from LankaSign and use them for signing official documents.
First and foremost, the Digital Certificate Subscriber Agreement should be signed with LankaClear by submitting the signed agreement along with supporting documentation requirements
After the Digital Certificate Subscriber Agreement is signed, digital certificates can be requested for each user/person by submitting the Digital Certificate Application Form along with supporting docum ntation requirements.
Step 3 Receive security token and digital certificate via courier
After processing the submitted applications, the security token containing the digital certificate will be delivered via courier service. Security token PIN will be communicated separately.
LankaSign Root CA Certificate and LankaSign Intermediate CA Certificate should be installed on the PC/laptop you wish to use for digitally signing documents.
After the Security Token is received, that also should be installed on the PC/laptop you wish to use for digitally signing documents.

When you or any other recipient receives a digitally signed document provided by LankaSign, you can check the validity and authenticity of such documents by following the linked guide.
