The Certificate Policy(CP) is the principal statement of policy governing the Sri Lankan Root CA of NCA. The CP applies to Sri Lanka NCA root CA and thus provides assurances of trust.
The purpose of this document is to describe the practices that Root Certification Authority (CA) of National Certification Authority (NCA) of Sri Lanka follows when issuing and managing Certificates to its accredited Certification Service Providers (CSPs).
As defined by ITU Recommendation X.509, a Certificate Policy is a named set of rules that indicates the applicability of a certificate to a particular community and/or class of application with common security requirements.
A certificate policy (CP) focuses on certificates and the CSP's responsibilities regarding these certificates. It defines certificate characteristics such as usage, enrollment and issuance procedures, as well as liability issues. The content in this document may reference the NCAs Certificate Practice and other applicable documents for detailed information on discussed topics.
